The stinky souvenirs were only introduced last month and sold just on weekends, but sales have been so brisk that management has decided to offer them to the public all week long. It’s estimated the zoo sells around 200 ice-cream-like dung containers every week, most of them to Czech gardeners who use it as fertilizer.

The Prague Zoo isn’t the first one who adopted the idea of using elephant dung as souvenirs, the Schoenbrunn Zoo, in Vienna, has been doing it for years, but if sales keep up, Bobek and his team are thinking of introducing other kinds of animal excrements, or special Asian and African mixes. Each of the zoo’s elephants produce between 140 and 180 kilograms of dung every day, so I don’t think they’ll run out of supplies any time soon.

Ever since 3000 BC, Avanos has been known for its high quality earthenware, made from the mineral-rich mud of the Red River, but in recent years, the town has mostly been mentioned in relation to a unique hair museum created by skilled Turkish potter Chez Galip.

The unusual establishment, located under Galip’s pottery shop, is filled with hair samples from over 16,000 women. The walls, ceiling, and all other surfaces, except the floor, are covered with locks of hair from the different women who have visited this place, and pieces of paper with addresses on them.

The story goes that the museum was started over 30 years ago, when one of Galip’s friends had to leave Avanos, and he was very sad. To leave him something to remember her by, the woman cut a piece of her hair and gave it to the potter. Since then, the women who visited his place and heard the story gave him a piece of their hair and their complete address. Throughout the years, he has amassed an impressive collection of over 16,000 differently colored locks of hair, from women all around the world.

Twice a year, in June and December, the first customer who comes in Chez Galip’s shop is invited down into the Hair Museum to choose ten winners off the walls. These lucky ten will receive an all-expenses-paid week-long vacation in beautiful Cappadocia, where they will get to participate in his pottery workshops, for free. This is the artist’s way to give back to the women that helped him create the unique museum which bring in new customers every day.

The Hair Museum doesn’t have an entry charge, and women don’t have to donate their hair, but if they wish to do so, scissors, sellotape, pens, paper and drawing pins are provided.

He eventually agreed to her dream date of 11/11/11 – but only if one million people joined a Facebook group to convince him.

So Kelly set up a page called ‘I NEED 1 MILLION PEOPLE TO JOIN FOR PAUL TO MARRY ME C’MON GUYS HELP ME lol’, which has gained just 2,863 fans so far.

The desperate dinner lady is now appealing for members of the public to join the group so she can finally walk down the aisle.

Paul, 38, who lives with Kelly in Swindon, Wilts, believes the challenge should be easy for his bride-to-be.

He said: ”It just came out of nowhere. I thought ‘a million’ that sounds good.

”When you think there’s 67 billion people in the world it’s less than 0.1 per cent. I just like a challenge and I like the idea of setting a challenge for her.

”It’ll give her something to look at on Facebook.

”She wants 11/11/11 that’s the deadline she has in mind, but it will depend on how many people she’s got in her group.

”Even her dad hasn’t joined yet. He must be on my side.”

The description to Kelly’s group – launched a week ago – reads: ”we been together 10 years and i think its about time he got off his stubborn arse and married me…..lol he just informed me that i need to get 1 million people to join…..lol so come on join prove to him that i can do it….hahaha.”

The mum-of-four said: ”I talked about setting up a group on Facebook to get people to join to support me and said to Paul how many people do I need to get?

”He said a million. We’ve been engaged for 10 years and I think it’s time he walked me down the aisle.

”We did have a date set for last year but Paul lost his dad and it had to be cancelled.

”I’d love Paul to come home and say he’s booked a date but I doubt it very much.”

She added that she has pleaded with Paul to reduce the figure but to no avail.

If she gets her wish, her four children Nicole, 15, Jack, 13, Ellie-Mai, eight, and Madison-Leigh, five, will be bridesmaids and a pageboy at the wedding.

The law is named after Nitro, a pet Rottwieler who died at the facility while his family had to attend to a sick relative out of state, and would increase animal cruelty to a fifth degree felony in Ohio punishable by up to a year in jail. Ohio is only one of nine states that doesn’t count the first count of animal cruelty as a felony. The law was passed in the state’s House of Representatives, but died in the Senate. Moustaki won’t stop until it’s law.

“This isn’t just a local issue, it’s a national issue,” Moustaki said in a release. “This didn’t happen in my home state, but as someone who speaks up for animals, I consider them all in my backyard. Animals don’t vote, but their owners do. If this can happen in Ohio, it can happen anywhere, and it’s important for people to be aware of the laws in their state.”

On the first day of her campaign Moustaki ate dog food straight up out of the container, although she’s since started included dog food in other recipes like “Malemute Mac and Cheeze,” and “Bocker’s Bruchetta.” You can follow Moustaki’s culinary adventures and learn more about her campaign on her YouTube page.

And the incident has prompted police to urge him and other self-styled saviours to hang up their capes before anyone gets seriously hurt.

‘Does Superman get his ass kicked?’ one detective – quite fairly – asked. ‘These people should not be called superheroes.’

Mr Jones – who parades around wearing tights, a mask and a skin-tight rubber suit with a bulletproof vest – was hurt while bravely (or stupidly) trying to break up a fight with a man who was armed with a gun.

But he insisted his injury won’t put him off fighting crime.

‘If police aren’t here, criminals feel free to run wild in my city,’ the father of two said. ‘And I’m not going to stand for it.’

Mr Jones insisted he endangered his life ‘with a reason and a purpose’ and claimed he and other caped crusaders all had a military or martial arts background and knew what they were facing.

His eight other colleagues revel in the monikers Thorn, Buster Doe, Green Reaper, Gemini, No Name, Catastrophe, Thunder 88 and Penelope.

He is often driven around the city by a mystery woman; she doesn’t bother with superhero garb.
